    Somalia and Rwanda had an agreement of airspace deal

    The governments of Somalia and Rwanda have signed an agreement to open airspace between the two countries in order to facilitate trade between the two countries.

The governments of Somalia and Rwanda have signed an agreement to open airspace between the two countries in order to facilitate trade between the two countries.
The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia HE Mohamed Abdullahi Salat welcomed the progress made in the country, saying the agreement would strengthen trade between the two countries.
Speaking to the media after the signing of the agreement, Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Abdullahi Salat said the agreement will enhance trade between the countries.
"I am sure you will see a lot of Somali investors flocking to your country, and we welcome your investors to also come to Somalia. I am sure we have a lot to learn from your civil aviation and from your government agencies and we will exchange that knowledge hopefully from now on,” he said.
Somali Minister lauded Rwanda’s commitment to recover from the genocide which took place in Rwanda.
"We are very, very proud of you, coming from the genocide all the way to what we see now. We look forward to opening the trade between Somalia and Rwanda and this is the first step.


On his side, Rwandan Minister for Infrastructure, Claver Gatete the agreement could boost trade and air transport networks between both countries.

"This is to make sure that the free trade, the free movement of services; the free airspace is a reality. So, we are leading an example to ensure that this is happening.”

The Federal government Somali is making progress to words the airspace of international air transport, with flights from Kenya, Djibouti, Turkey, Qatar, Uganda and Ethiopia lands at Aden Adde International Airport.
