The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, met with his Russian counterpart H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

Amb. Ahmed Awad thanked Russia for its support for Somalia in  international stances, stressing the importance of developing relations between the two countries and activating the partnership agreements at all levels.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived in Moscow today to take part in the fifth session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum at the level of foreign ministers, which will begin on Tuesday (April 16th).
